Agua Amarga is a Spanish town and hamlet belonging to the municipality of Níjar, in the province of Almería, Spain. The locality is characterised by its welcoming beaches and by the complex of white houses that make it up. The Cargadero Mineral de Agua Amarga is the end point of the railway line from Lucainena de las Torres to Agua Amarga. This place, protected from the easterly winds, was chosen to load the iron extracted in the mines of Lucainena onto the ships that were to transport it to the blast furnaces of the mining companies.
